| How do we motivate kids? What a question and unfortunately the answer evades most of us. The answer though is very simple, it is inspiration. Inspiration is knowledge and emotion joining forces. It is what drives us as humans to aspire to great success. Knowledge alone is dull and boring. Yes it makes us more intelligent and capable of making better choices but without emotion it is slow and dead. But once the life of emotion is joined with knowledge or an intention watch out. This is why it is so important to foster dreams in kids. With a big dream a child will be INSPIRED to do whatever it takes to achieve. |

| I remember dreaming of playing in the NBA. I would shoot thousands of baskets till dark in freezing temperatures, all the while playing out the last second NBA Championship shot from the corner. All alone I would count down 3,2,1 and he shoots, and scores!!!!! Although I never did make it to the NBA (stopped growing at 5'9") the dream is what inspired me to work hard, and more importntly, to spend my time on positive goals as opposed to negative and destructive ones. |
